Our cosy,
En-suite
rooms are tastefully refurbished
and have Mira "Power" showers, loo and vanity basin.

Tea & coffee-making facilities, TV’s hairdryers,
shaver-point, clock and central heating.

All rooms have views of the surrounding mountains
and countryside.

Our
Standard Single room
(not pictured)

has everything the En-suite rooms have, with the exception of the Shower & loo.

However, we do have a separate en-suite Shower room,
with a loo + a separate loo,  for the use of guests,
who book the standard single room.

The view from the Front Rooms of the house looks across to Walla Crag (on the skyline, to your left) and the “mound” of trees, behind the houses, is Castlehead.

Castlehead is supposed to be an extinct "Volcanic Plug".  It boasts fantastic panoramic views, from it's summit,   across Derwentwater Lake & down Borrowdale Valley.  You can see past Portinscale  to Bassenthwaite Lake.
The Best bit is that you can be at the top within 1/2 hour
Perfect for an "Evening Walk"

The views from the back of the house look to the Skiddaw range, at 3000ft it’s the 3rd highest mountain in England.

Latrigg Fell is to the right with a bridlepath winding up to the base of Skiddaw

DOGS

We are "Dog Friendly" but obviously have to have "Guide Lines" for the benefit of the Dogs, their owners and Guests that follow :

  • Dogs must be CLEAN when brought into the House
    • (if wet and/or muddy they must be dried and cleaned BEFORE they come in).

  • Dogs must have their own BED brought with them and used.
  • If fed and watered in the room - the dishes must be put on a waterproof/polythene sheet.

  • Dogs MUST NEVER be left in the Room on their own if the owner is not in the room with them (inc. Bfast time)
  • Dogs are not allowed on the Beds or Furniture
    • (Some of our Guests, that occupy the room after you, may be prone to Asthma)

  • Also, obviously dogs will react if they hear other Guests but constant Barking/whining would not be appreciated.
  • Dogs must be friendly and not snappy if they meet other Guests.

  • There are Dog Friendly Pubs in KESWICK where you can take your Dog when you go for a meal and a drink at night.
    • One such Pub is the Travel Lodge
    • Others allow Dogs at their outside Tables
