The Cumbria Way Cycle Route
This is a newly researched cycle route over 72 miles ( 80 miles if you use the 2 off-road sections) of beautiful Lake District countryside. This route should not be confused with the 'Cumbria cycle way'. Our ride loosely follows the 'Cumbria Way' walk route which has been walked and enjoyed for decades by countless numbers of people who love walking and enjoy the Lake District for its natural beauty and variety of terrain.
This cycle route encompasses everything the cyclist loves: a superb variety of terrain, ranging from country roads to rugged off-road trails, up 'leg burning' hills, down on to grassy bridlepaths. (off-road sections are optional).
You will ride through the heart of the Lake District with scenery that is unsurpassed anywhere in England. The views (see link below) are a small selection of those that you will see and enjoy on the Cumbria Way cycle Route (CWCR). They will give you an idea of the type of terrain and breathtaking views that you will experience whilst cycling this route through the Lake District.
We are hoping that this ride will tempt those of you who do not have the time to cycle the C2C, which usually takes a minimum of three days. This ride can happily be done in a weekend, with only one night in B&B accommodation, if you so wish.
Glaramara guesthouse offer a holiday package, with full back-up transport, 2 nights B&B accommodation and packed lunches (available for a small extra charge), from £120:00 PP. You can leave your car in Keswick and then be transported back to it from Carlisle at the end of the ride.

**Cycle Hire is available if required**

Second Day: Leaving from Keswick, through Threlkeld - Skiddaw House - Bassenthwaite - Hesket Newmarket and on to Carlisle. Approx. 32 miles.
